    • Suggested Order for Faith Sharing

      1. Begin with Prayer

You may light a candle and open a Bible.  If possible you may start with a song.  Together pray the opening prayer for Mass.

Opening Prayer for Mass for the Third Sunday of Lent  found in the Roman Missal

O God, author of every mercy
      and of all goodness,
who in fasting, prayer and almsgiving
have shown us a remedy for sin,
      look graciously on this confession
      of our lowliness,
that we, who are bowed down
      by our conscience,
may always be lifted up by your mercy.
      Through our Lord Jesus Christ,
      your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
      God, for ever and ever.

      2. Read the Gospel for Sunday Mass

      Gospel:  Luke 13:1-9

Each person should have a Bible to follow along with the readings.  The readings can also be found on the USCCB website at https://bible.usccb.org/bible/readings/032325-YearC.cfm

      3. Pause for quiet reflection.

      4. Share words or phrases that struck you and why.

      5. Questions for discussion for all to share.

Catholics do not believe in Karma.  How is Jesus teaching that in today’s reading and what is he teaching?

How does Jesus’ parable about the fig tree bearing fruit challenge you?

The gardener asks the owner of the fig tree to wait one more year for fruit and offers a plan.  Has that ever happened to you in your spiritual  life?

      6. Watch the parish video.

      7. Offer Intercessory Prayers for various needs closing with the “Our Father”.
