    • CGA Essay Contest - Christmas 2025

      2025 Catholic Grandparents’ Essay Contest

      In partnership with the Catholic Grandparents Association and Saint Dominic Academy, Prince of Peace Parish invites all children in Grades K–8 to enter the 2025 Essay Contest in celebration of Bambinelli Sunday (December 14–15, 2025).

      This year’s theme celebrates the faith, love, and witness of grandparents. Families are encouraged to sit down together and reflect on their shared stories. The provided questions can help guide your child’s reflection.

      How to Participate

      1. Download and complete the Essay Contest Entry Form (PDF)

      2. Follow the grade-level instructions:

        • Pre-K & Kindergarten: Draw a picture about your grandparents and describe it.

        • Grades 1–2: Draw and write one or two sentences.

        • Grades 3–4: Write one paragraph.

        • Grades 5–8: Write 100 words about your grandparents.

      3. Submit your entry by Friday, December 5, 2025 to your classroom teacher or the parish office.

      Prizes

      • Grade Winners (K–8): Each will receive a Bambinelli (Baby Jesus) figurine.

      • Grand Prize Winner: A full Nativity Set.

      Reflection Questions
      Children may consider:

      • What is your favorite memory with your grandparents?

      • What lesson have they taught you?

      • How do they share their faith or family traditions?

      • What do you hope to pass on from them one day?

      Award Presentation
      Winners will be announced on Bambinelli Sunday at all parish Masses, December 14–15.

      Our mission is to support Grandparents in their ministry of passing on the faith to their grandchildren.  It is done in a number of ways including...

      • Maintaining a website that will pass on information and ideas
      • Send out a newletter through email with ideas to keep everyone updated 
      • Sponsoring parish events to help appreciate the ministry of grandparents
      • Conducting monthly meetings to support grandparents in their work
      • Passing on information from the International Catholic Grandparents Association

      We invite to you join us in coming together for support and handing on resources needed to help encourage and engage your children and grandchildren in the rich traditions and roots of the Catholic Church.

      We meet on the 1st Tuesday of every month
       following the 7am Mass at Holy Family


      Following the daily Mass go to the Church Hall and into the music room located in the rear of the Church Hall.  Coffee & Donuts will be provided
