Join us for a hands-on stained glass workshop in the peaceful setting of the Basilica. In this class, you’ll learn the fundamentals of stained glass while creating your own illuminated Star of Bethlehem.
Guided by Bonnie Faulkner, participants will design and build their star using traditional methods—including glass cutting, foiling, and soldering—to bring their piece to life.
No prior experience is needed—just a love for sacred art and creativity. Whether you’re hoping to deepen your connection to devotional art or simply enjoy a morning of peaceful craftsmanship, this workshop offers a beautiful opportunity to create something meaningful.
All materials are provided. Space is limited, so reserve your spot today! Limited to 12 people
Class fee: $35
All proceeds support the Basilica Heritage Center Fundraiser.
Bonnie Faulkner, a Maine-based artist, has been showcasing her glasswork throughout New England for over 20 years. Her commissions range from full window and wall installations for residential and commercial spaces to intimate items such as bedside lamps and one-of-a-kind necklaces, bracelets and earrings.
Faulkner is a highly unique glass artist in that she frequently combines dichroic fused, hand blown and stained glass into one creation. She finds combining these techniques opens up placement for glass objects in every part of one's home, where even limited lighting accentuates the work. Coupled with her playful mix of figures, forms and faces, each piece becomes highly signature.
Bonnie graduated from the University of Southern Maine with a major in Art Education and minor in Ceramics. She taught art in the public schools for five years. Due to increasing demands for her work, she is now a full time studio artist and guest glass instructor for limited workshops throughout Maine and is affiliated with Haystack, Maine Art Education Association, Maine Glass Arts and Bowdoin College. Figureworks is honored to be the only New York gallery representing her work.
