“Be sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
If you are a baptized Catholic who has not yet received the Sacrament of Confirmation, we invite you to take this next step in your journey of faith.
This is more than a requirement—it’s a gift. Confirmation completes your initiation into the Catholic Church and strengthens you with the grace of the Holy Spirit to live as a mature disciple of Christ.
This preparation process is intended for:
Teens (age 12 and up) and adults
Baptized in the Catholic Church
Have received some form of religious education (such as Sunday School, CCD, Catholic school, or parish formation)
Have not yet received the Sacrament of Confirmation
If you were baptized but have not yet received First Holy Communion, you may also use this form with the permission of the Pastor.
Confirmation is one of the three Sacraments of Initiation, along with Baptism and Holy Eucharist. It is not a graduation—it is a deepening. The graces of Confirmation seal and strengthen what was begun in Baptism, empowering you to live your Catholic faith with courage, conviction, and joy.
Each year, the Bishop of Portland offers four regional Confirmation Masses across the state during the Easter Season. These are large, beautiful liturgies where candidates from many parishes gather to receive the sacrament together.
We will communicate the location as soon as the Diocese finalizes the schedule.
Our parish-based preparation sessions will begin during Lent 2026 and continue through the Easter Season. These sessions will:
Review essential Catholic teachings
Provide spiritual formation
Prepare you for full, active participation in the Confirmation Mass
This is not a full-year program, but it does require commitment and active participation.
Please complete the form below to let us know you’re interested. This is the first step in the process. Once submitted, our staff will follow up in early 2026 with details and next steps.
We understand that each person’s journey is different. If you’re not sure whether this is the right next step, or if you have special circumstances (such as missing other sacraments or being married outside the Church), we are happy to speak with you confidentially.
