Hello Candidates & Catechumens,
Week 5 is upon us, and this week we’ll explore three powerful themes: Jesus healing the ten lepers, Salvation History, and Angels and Demons.
In this Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus heals ten men with leprosy, sending them to show themselves to the priests. Along the way, they discover they’ve been cleansed—yet only one returns to give thanks.
To be a leper in those days meant more than illness; it meant being both contagious and cut off—exiled from every part of society. To return, even healed, was to risk death. Yet the one who returned found not death, but life in the presence of Christ.
His healing didn’t just restore his body—it redefined his belonging. And the same is true for us.
How often have we tried to return to what once was—a moment, a memory, or a sense of “normal”—only to realize the world has already moved on? When Christ calls us to new life, do we see it as rebirth or merely as escape from what hurts?
Mark will guide us through Salvation History—not as something finished long ago, but as a living story that continues in our own daily lives.
And we’ll be joined by Fr. Michael Sevigny for a special presentation on the spiritual world that surrounds us, exploring the role of angels and demons in God’s plan and how they help or hinder our journey toward holiness.
Together, these themes remind us that God’s healing work did not end in Scripture—it continues in salvation history, in the spiritual realm, and in each of us.
I look forward to being with you all soon!
