Good Afternoon Everyone,
I pray that everything is going well for you all and that your time with us is fruitful.
This coming Sunday we hear the Apostles, the innermost followers of Jesus, ask for more faith. Jesus tells them that if they had faith the size of a mustard seed, they could command anything and it would be done. Yet He pivots to a parable of a servant—teaching the humility of service and the quiet dignity found in the work of the Lord.
What does Jesus mean by calling us “unprofitable servants”?
Isn’t looking forward to heaven a just reward?
What is Jesus asking of you this week, and how can you go about the work of the Kingdom of God?
This week we will also look at what the Holy Trinity is, as well as the power of the crucifix.
Many Christians claim the cross, yet without a corpus—the body of Christ—it remains only a symbol.
Why do Catholics seem so intent on depicting the death of Jesus?
A crucifix reminds us of the cost of love. It shows us how we are called to live: willing to be misunderstood, rejected, or even condemned in this world, yet hopeful in the glory of the next. We find power in its redemption and healing in its message—that someone suffered first, and that we can always lift our eyes to the God who humbled Himself so that we may live.
Mark has asked that you take some time to watch the following video from Bishop Barron to prepare for tomorrow's discussion on the Holy Trinity.
Yours in Christ,
Tyler
